Privacy at a glance

Private, and honest about the limits.

Your training and health data tell your story, and we treat them that way. halgo is free and in a test phase: for now it's by invitation only, and we invite a small number of people. It's run by Ricardo Covas as a private individual, who is responsible for your data. Here's how we look after it.

What we do

In the EU, encrypted

Your data lives on a server in Nuremberg, Germany, on an encrypted disk. The backups are encrypted too.

Kept apart

Your data is kept in its own separate store: no one else using halgo can see it.

Only what you choose

halgo takes in only what you connect, upload or enter yourself, and only after you've said yes, in its own box, to it handling your health data.

Yours to take, or to delete

Download all your health and training data, start afresh, or delete your account, whenever you like. Deleting can't be undone: your data is gone for good, and your health data leaves our encrypted backups within 7 days. You can also withdraw your consent, or object to how your data is used, at any time.

What we don't do

  • Never sold. We never sell your data, and never give it to anyone to use for their own purposes. The companies that host halgo and send its emails handle it only on our instructions.
  • No ads, no tracking. No advertising, and no analytics or tracking cookies.
  • No AI model in halgo. No AI model is used in halgo today, and your data is never used to train one.
  • No medical advice. halgo describes your own data: it's not medical advice, not a diagnosis and not a training plan.

The honest part

The encryption protects your data if the disk is reused, lost or copied. It doesn't protect against someone who takes over the running server, and it doesn't stop Ricardo, who runs the server: he could technically access your data.

He doesn't look at anyone's data unless you ask us for help, or to fix a fault halgo's nightly check finds in it (that reading isn't recorded). Otherwise, halgo's own tools record each time he opens someone's data, and why. The full notice says plainly what that record can and can't guarantee.

Every detail

How long we keep things, what's kept about sign-ins, every company involved, and all your rights: it's all in the full notice.
